We knew “Dave” as a friend and Kevin used to give him rides to work for the past two years until his recent retirement. Dave’s pride and joy included memories of his wife of 32 years, times spent with her, their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren in Chicago when on vacations. Dave recalled to me how when he was married his wife was an expert at finding bargains and was very smart. He really still loved her and would get a haircut and clean up to his best appearance when it was time to go to Chicago to visit. Dave loved his children & grandchildren. I recall Dave telling me about the daughter who works with animals. Dave also missed his deceased son. Dave also told us about his departed grandfather, who was a preacher and left him his sermons in writing. Dave was happy that on the last two visits to Chicago, he and his “ex” wife got along so well. Another conversation I’m recalling is when Dave said his ex-wife was trying to get tickets so he could go to the Super Bowl game in Chicago. He was so excited and so happy to know he had real family in Chicago. I hope this makes Dave’s family know it was you all that made him feel worthwhile.
